A Brief History of DNRWS
RWS is a trademark of Dynamit Nobel. The history of Dynamit Nobel dates back to the year 1865, when the Swedish scientist and industrialist Alfred Nobel first established his own company in Hamburg. The following year, Alfred Nobel & Company began production of Nobel's own invention, a safety explosive called Dynamite. Alfred Nobel was also the founder of the distinguished Nobel Prize, which recognizes individuals the world over who have performed outstanding work in the service of mankind in the fields of the humanities and science.
Alfred Nobel's inventions and business prowess led to the merger with Pulverfabrik Rottweil and the eventual evolution of Dynamit Nobel into a world-wide company with a technological reputation for innovation and quality. Research and development of new products and processes and the improvement of existing ones are the corner stones of Dynamit Nobel's commitment to quality.
Dynamit Nobel/RWS Inc: Founded in 1988 DNRWS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynamit Nobel AG of Germany. For many years prior to the founding of DNRWS, Dynamit Nobel products were distributed in the U.S. by various independent importers. On January 1, 1988 DNRWS began operation as the sole U.S. importer and distributor of Dynamit Nobel hunting and sporting products as well as the entire airgun line of Dianawerk.

RWS Website
From Website:
RWS stands for the Rheinisch-Westfälischen Sprengstoff factories, which became part of Dynamit Nobel in 1931. RWS rifle cartridges have conquered the world since their introduction to the market and are appreciated by hunters just as much as by sport shooters. Numerous Olympic winners prove the excellent quality of RWS ammunition, which is trusted by many well-known and competent top shooters.
Most of RWS's employees are themselves enthusiastic hunters, hunting actively nationally and internationally. Their valuable experience is constantly added to the development process and has an influence on even the smallest details in the production process. This personal involvement is a part of our huntsman philosophy: At the decisive moment of shooting, the hunter can concentrate on the essentials and place his faith in the full huntsman-worthy features of the ammunition.
For more than a century now, ammunition products have been manufactured at the RUAG Ammotec GmbH Stadeln factory. The company has had a lively history. In 1855, Heinrich Utendoerffer received permission to set up a laboratory for the production of ignition charges. Utendoerffer then sold his company, which was then still located in Nürnberg, in 1877 to the "Rheinisch Westfälische Sprengstoff-Actien-Gesellschaft" (RWS) founded in 1886 in Troisdorf.
After there were repeated problems in Nürnberg with regards to concession allocations, the factory was moved in 1894 to today's Fürth district of Stadeln. A wide range of products with an "explosive character" are still being produced here today under the control of RUAG Ammotec GmbH. All RWS rifle cartridges are exclusively produced in Germany at the Stadeln location. Production is carefully monitored so that you can hunt successfully and safely.
